Nerf Battle: Capture the Flag In-Person
For middle & high schoolers: It's an after-hours Nerf battle for control of the library! Bring your Nerf blaster (we'll supply the ammo) and get ready to battle it out. Parents will be asked to sign a minor participation waiver at the door or sign and send the attached form with their child. Parents are welcome to wait in the meeting room neutral zone during the battle.
How to Play: Capture the Flag
No forts! There will be three teams with two flags each. Find your team’s home base, look for the tape lines that indicate your territory, and locate your flags. Players cannot re-hide their team’s flags. During the game, you can guard your flags, but you cannot be within 5 feet of them unless an opposing player is present.
Report back to the middle of the library to begin the game. At the whistle, try to cross into the opposing teams’ territories to take their flags. You may carry one flag at a time (either one of the other team’s or your own if it has been captured). Players from any team can pick up a dropped flag.
If you are tagged: drop the flag where you are and do 5 pushups before respawning at your home base. Players are safe within their own territory.
A team wins when they have captured three flags from opposing teams and all three are within their territory.
Winning strategies for Capture the Flag include strategizing with your team to designate some players for defense while others seek to capture the flag; using decoys to draw other teams’ attention; forming alliances with one opposing team to defeat a common enemy; and switching roles often to confuse other teams.
Please clarify any questions with the referee before the game begins.
